Mission
To preserve, protect, and restore the land, water, air, wildlife, unique features, and quality of life in the Texas Hill Country from the aggressive and insufficiently regulated expansion of the aggregate industry.
Initiatives
Projects include educating communities on preservation of natural resources; developing legislation and common-sense regulations to protect the air, water, and other environmental assets of the Texas Hill Country; and conducting research into the hazards of limestone quarries, mines, concrete batch plants, and other aggregate operations (APOs). Our current focus is the proposed 1500-acre Vulcan quarry between Bulverde and New Braunfels.

We are an all-volunteer group of neighbors joining together to protect our families and the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Preserve Our Hill Country Environment is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization. Preserve Our Hill Country Environment Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Both organizations share this website. Learn more here.
